But be sure to pack a GPS.) and thus haven&#8217;t been attending to bloggerly duties. Here&#8217;s some stuff I hope will make up for that.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We don&#8217;t live far from Carlsbad Caverns, in New Mexico, but I&#8217;ve never seen the bats emerge from or return to the caves. I&#8217;ll bet you haven&#8217;t either, at least not like this:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZT8vpxOxPVI\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding: 1em 30px;\">The flight of the bats was filmed using an infrared camera which tracked their movements via their body heat. Amazing footage. I&#8217;ve watched it closely, and out of a half million bats (unaudited, I suspect, but still) I saw not a single collision. Drivers in Houston&#8217;s rush hour traffic should be so skilled. Here&#8217;s how <i>Terminator<\/i> should have ended. Gotta love the minimalism; I&#8217;d ride one.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-top: 1.25em;\">Speaking of bicycles (well, sort of) here&#8217;s a lush new (to me) online-only cycling publication called <a href=\"http:\/\/theridejournal.com\/\">The Ride<\/a>.
