Today’s a special day for me. I don’t write much about my family, in order to respect their privacy (I got special dispensation from Abbye for the photos and the posts… and it’s costing me big-time in the puppy biscuit arena). But there are some occasions which are so special that they cry out to be shared, and today is one of them. And it’s not what you think…<\/p>\n
Thirty years ago today, in a small Baptist church in a small west Texas town, My Lovely Bride had one of her amazingly rare lapses in judgment, and I was the beneficiary. She said “I do,” and my life was forever changed for the better.<\/p>\n
Three decades later, we’re still in love. How much so? (Bear with me…I know this is getting sappy.) So much so that on Saturday, she agreed to go with me to see Charlie’s Angels<\/em>. And so much so that I said, “oh, let’s go see Pirates of the Caribbean<\/em> instead.” (I think you ladies will understand what I’m talking about here. The guys just hear “blah blah blah Charlie’s Angels blah blah blah.”)<\/p>\n Next to being able to stake my claim as a child of God, there’s nothing that makes me prouder than being able to say that I’m married to her. Her marrying me just proves that there really is no justice in the world…and I thank the good Lord every day for that fact!<\/p>\n I love you, babe…happy anniversary!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today’s a special day for me.
