So I figured, hey, I have an inner sanctum also, as well as a pseudo-regular place on which to put a photo. Here &#8217;tis:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/fireant\/workarea_sm.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of the Gazette's central headquarters\" width=\"600\" height=\"608\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A few notes are in order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlike Mr. Lileks, I didn&#8217;t feel the need to impose an unnatural appearance of order onto what is, in reality, perpetual chaos. I feel good, psychically, about that decision, and I&#8217;m prepared to face the inevitable consequences when <acronym title=\"My Lovely Bride\">MLB<\/acronym> finds out what I&#8217;ve posted on the internet. (I&#8217;ll never understand why women would prefer to have a picture of themselves eating a whole raw pig with curlers [in the their hair, not the pig&#8217;s] rather than have anyone find out that there&#8217;s an occasional minor mess in their home.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-top: 1em;\">Unlike Jasper, Abbye takes her dog-of-the-house duties very seriously, and will not demean the station by posing for crass commercial purposes. Plus, I couldn&#8217;t get her out from under the bed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-top: 1em;\">If you&#8217;re really nosy &#8211; and impossibly bored &#8211; you can see a <a title=\"' photo\" href=\"\/images\/fireant\/workarea.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\">larger <em>annotated<\/em> version<\/a> of this photo, which describes some of the more significant features of my work area.
