In attendance was <a title=\"Sticky Doorknobs\" href=\"http:\/\/stickydoorknobs.typepad.com\/\">Jimmy Patterson<\/a>, <a title=\"ArchaeoTexture\" href=\"http:\/\/archaeotex.blogspot.com\/\">Jeff McDonald<\/a>, and <a title=\"Streams\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biggolddog.com\/streams.html\">Wallace Craig<\/a>. Darrell Ward attended as our token media hanger-on; I was going to link to his bio over at KWES-TV, but it seems to be missing. (What&#8217;s up with <em>that<\/em>, Jeff?)<\/p>\n<p>A lot of interesting things went on around the table, but I was sworn to secrecy and can&#8217;t share most of them. I can, however, report that Jimmy ordered shrimp scampi and re-created the climactic scene from <em>Dirty Dancing<\/em> using the shrimp as the cast. Jeff told us obscure stuff about journalism, and Darrell spoke with a really deep voice.<\/p>\n<p>Wallace wore a pink shirt.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, each of the other bloggers brought their cameras so you&#8217;ll soon see photos of the occasion appearing at their sites, except for Jeff, who had two cameras but couldn&#8217;t work either of them. Darrell didn&#8217;t get the memo, and thus will have to rely on his memory.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve decided that photographing those mokes isn&#8217;t all that much fun, so I&#8217;ve relied instead on my keen eye for detail and an innate artistic talent, honed with an advanced degree from the prestigious Art Institute Online, to provide a photo-realistic sketch of our group:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 1px gray solid; padding: 8px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericsiegmund.com\/images\/fireant\/comics\/lunchcrowd.gif\" alt=\"Artist's Rendering of a motley crew of bloggers\"><\/div>\n<p>From right to left, that&#8217;s Darrell, Jeff, Jimmy, yours truly and Wallace.<\/p>\n<p>The shadowy figure on the far left is the specter of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jessicaswell.com\/\">Jessica&#8217;s Well<\/a> crew; they were invited and we presume were in attendance at another table, disguised as elderly matrons wearing a lot of purple. I can&#8217;t draw purple, however, so this will have to suffice.<\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s pretty obvious why an invitation to these luncheons is highly coveted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Local bloggers gather for lunch.
