No? Can&#8217;t say that I blame you; it dealt with some pretty obscure subject matter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; margin: 1em 0 1em 24px; border: 1px solid #ccc;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericsiegmund.com\/fireant\/images\/misc\/alabamamusicianscover.jpg\" alt=\"Book cover\">Well, unless you&#8217;re a musician and music historian who&#8217;s writing a scholarly book about the musicians of Alabama including Gene Sullivan and who had almost despaired of finding a photograph of Mr. Sullivan&#8230;until he stumbled across this here blog-like thing. And if you do happen to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fluteflights.com\/CSFUQUA\/\">Mr. C.S. Fuqua<\/a>, you might just want to include the scanned photograph from the Gazette in <i>Alabama Musicians: Musical Heritage from the Heart of Dixie<\/i>, which is scheduled for publication this week and will be available from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Alabama-Musicians-Musical-Heritage-Heart\/dp\/1609491572\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1314117201&amp;sr=8-1\">Amazon.com<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/alabama-musicians-c-s-fuqua\/1104250821\">Barnes &amp; Noble<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/historypress.net\/indexsecure.php?prodid=9781609491574\">the publisher&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Fuqua was kind enough to notify me today via email of the book&#8217;s impending publication, and to send along a PDF of the book cover and the section of the book about Gene Sullivan. I particularly liked the accompanying image.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"clear: both;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericsiegmund.com\/fireant\/images\/misc\/alabamamusicians.jpg\" alt=\"Scanned Photo\"><\/p>\n<p>It looks like an interesting book. I&#8217;m going to order two copies. One for me to read, and one for my mom, because she&#8217;d never forgive me if I didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Also, it&#8217;s just another reason why I keep blogging (however sporadically)&#8230;you never know when even an obscure post will touch a nerve or fill a need for someone else.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember this post?
