<\/p>\nI was driving past the south pond this morning and something caught my eye on the far bank. I pulled into the clubhouse parking lot, grabbed the camera (which, for once, actually had a charged battery) and set out across the grounds to get a closer look. Turned out to be this guy:<\/p>\n

It’s a Great Blue Heron (I hope it has a happier fate than a previous visitor<\/a>), and at first I thought it was just innocently hanging out. But then I realized that birds can be cruel jokesters, too, because look who was nearby.<\/p>\n Yes, it’s our good friend, the one-legged goose<\/a>, and the heron was obviously mocking him, much to the goose’s dismay. Appalling behavior, right?
