The un-retouched image is actually quite a bit more impressive:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericsiegmund.com\/fireant\/images\/misc\/sterlingcitywindfarm2.jpg\" style=\"border: 1px solid #ccc;\" alt=\"Aerial photo\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I know that some of you have seen this scene from ground-level. It&#8217;s an aerial look at the <strike>Forest Creek<\/strike> Capricorn Ridge <i>(thanks, Gregg!)<\/i> wind farm just north of Sterling City, Texas. The white lines and dots are the turbine locations and service roads, but what really caught my eye when I saw them on Google Earth are the fractal patterns of the terrain, showing how it&#8217;s been etched over the eons by natural forces. Simply breathtaking, it is.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Speaking of wind, I ran across the following video on a blog called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brandsixtysix.com\/brand66new\/spawning-life-from-pvc.html\">Brand 66<\/a>, and I was immediately captured by the sheer whimsical genius.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HSKyHmjyrkA?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>How cool would it be to set an army of these inventions loose on the West Texas plains, to &#8220;graze&#8221; and wander at will?<\/div>\n<style><\/style>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I created this from an actual photograph.
