I blast them with stuff from Home Depot that I buy in case lots. I figure if they’re selling it at the Depot, it’s either safe or my wife will make a killing in a wrongful death lawsuit, and either one is fine with me. It kills regular wussie ants, too.
Now if you had a home-made fireant killer recipe, I would be interested.

Scott, I don’t mind the traffic. Heck, I NEED the traffic. I just hate to disappoint the folks who arrive here expecting to get real fire ant info. Hence, this post.
If you’re investing a fortune at Home Depot, you might try out the Aggies’ approach. It might end up being more cost effective in the long run.
For my little backyard, I just stir up the nest real good, then saturate with some D-Con (or whatever else is close at hand). It kills a bunch, and makes the rest move next door. Solves my problem, anyway.
