The forecast calls for monsoonal miasma, with occasional breaks for apathy and doldrums.
We have a sick dog, just in time for the holidays. Abbye’s been throwing up everything she’s chowing down — which hasn’t been much — for a couple of days, so she went to the vet today and we’re awaiting results from a blood test. She’s running a slight fever and has slightly jaundiced eyes, possibly indicating a liver inflammation. She got five injections — a B12 shot, an antibiotic and three injections of fluids for dehydration. She’s not a happy camper, so neither are we.
The bright spot is that she’s on a doctor-prescribed diet of Gerber’s baby food (smushed chicken; mooshed beef; etc.), and she does think that’s pretty good stuff…and so far, it’s been staying with her.
But, it looks like no turkey for her this week, unless it’s the gelled variety.

Sorry to hear that the abster isn’t feeling her chipper best. A sick dog is almost worse (on the owners) than a sick child, I’ve had both so you can trust me on that.
Hope she’s chasing her tail again soon.
Aw, poor baby. I’ll be praying for good test results and a quick recovery for Abbye.
Thanks, guys. Our optimism about the baby food helping her was short-lived; she can’t keep it down, either. We’re now waiting to hear from the vet about the next step.
Oh, that’s more bad news. I will definitely pray for Abbye, as well as for the mental and emotional health of her people.
OH man, sorry to hear that.
I didn’t know dogs cold throw up…gross.
Brian, are you sure you didn’t get that misconception confused with the one in “Shaun of the Dead,” where the running gag was that “dogs can’t look up”? 😉
But, yeah, it’s gross.
hey, Eric. Pedialyte slowly dribbled with a syringe down the back of Abby’s throat will help with the dehydration – we had to do that with our pup. We will be praying for the lass!
